August 17, 2021 – Salesforce announced Slack-First Customer 360 to enable Slack to serve as a hub for Salesforce-based workflows, as well as customer and partner interactions. This announcement represents the first new integrated Slack and Salesforce capabilities since Salesforce closed its acquisition of Slack in July of this year. Via pre-built integrations, Slack and Salesforce customers will gain the ability to feed CRM data directly into Slack channels, enabling creation and optimization of workflows, both internally and with partners via Slack Connect. Announced use cases include real-time sales updates within Slack channels, customer service and support within Slack using data from Salesforce, and marketing campaign management. The announcement also includes analytics to give customers visibility into business operations and to create alerts as necessary.
