AI Sentiment Index: 3Q 2026 Summary Report

Summary

Author: Matt Craig, Senior Director of Product Development

The Metrigy AI Sentiment Index rose to 103.0 in 3Q 2026, with gains in both current sentiment and future expectations. Regular AI use reached 39.6% of research participants, up 5.1 percentage points from 2Q. But improvement was uneven: expectations for the future impact on society slipped, and fewer workers who use AI said they knew what their employer's policy requires. Support for the proposed AI Kill Switch Act was broad, at 68.6%.
