MetriNote – 8×8 and Dstny Deliver New Teams Calling Integrations

August, 2023 – 8x8 and Dstny have separately delivered new solutions for integrating third-party calling into Microsoft Teams. On Aug. 14, Dstny announced “Call2Teams Go,” which provides a native dialer for integrating its Call2Teams PBX into the Microsoft Teams app. On Aug. 17, 8x8 introduced “8x8 Phone App for Microsoft Teams,” that also provides a native dialer directly within the Teams app. Both products allow companies that want to provide calling directly within Teams to do so without having to procure additional Microsoft licenses. As both dialers are directly embedded into the Teams app, administrators can centrally deploy them without requiring users to download and install plugins. Both also share presence information with Teams. For each service, customers need only purchase one Teams Phone Resource Account for their entire organization or per each Microsoft 365 or Office 365 tenant.
