What's the news?
At its Canvas 26 customer event on May 19, 2026, Miro announced new AI capabilities for its team workspace platform. These include:
- Sidekicks – AI agents that enable interaction with workspaces, including conversational voice and chat interfaces, multi-step task support, and automated canvas generation. Sidekicks maintain persistent memory and bring context to workspaces
- Flows - Integrate external connected systems to automate repeatable work, such as standups, scrums, and kickoffs. Flows provide support for Kanban views, allowing project managers and teams to have real-time visual insights into work progression
In addition, Miro announced an expanded set of connectors, through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling enhanced sharing of information from Miro boards to external models. Miro’s goal is to make all activity within a canvas easily ingestible by external agents.
Finally, Miro announced enhancements to its Prototypes capabilities to enable creation of prototypes from Claude Code and other coding tools, as well as new capabilities for design, prototyping, and variant creation. Prototypes allows the handoff of finished prototypes to external tools, such as Figma, for follow-on building.
