What's the news?
On April 15, 2026, Salesforce unveiled Headless 360, a foundational architectural shift designed to decouple the platform’s backend services from its traditional user interface (UI). By exposing every capability—from Data Cloud and the unified Customer 360 profile to Slack and Einstein AI—as an API, Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool, or CLI command, Salesforce is effectively enabling AI agents and human developers to operate without a browser. This ensures that business logic and customer context are no longer trapped in a single tab, but rather are available wherever work happens. Key components of the announcement include:
- The Agentforce Experience Layer – A UI service that separates an agent’s actions from its appearance, allowing rich, interactive components to render natively across Slack, WhatsApp, and custom frameworks like React
- Agentforce Vibes 2.0 – An integrated multi-modal (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT-5, etc.) development platform that provides agents with live access to an organization's entire Salesforce platform
- Enhanced governance – New tools like the Testing Center and Custom Scoring Evals provide guardrails for probabilistic agents, allowing firms to score and trace agent behavior in production (for more information on this type of capability, see Metrigy’s newly published market overview report, CX Assurance for AI-Powered Contact Centers.)
